Sunset Blues
I see a fiery disc in the western sky
dow,down,down it slips beyond
darkness slowly lurks againts what's left
of the vanishing scarlet sparkle
glowing, staring at the face of the planet
now whirling and circling like a top
thrown to a well stomped mound.
She sees darkness coming-mother
earth has to hit the sack. The days
work is hard, full of bumps and
sharp edges refractory to the
the joy hummed by hummingbirds.
The Film Of Life
I see a film I have not seen before
As I begin my journey past the door
I try my best to fix the ones I lost
But I'm not sure if what I do is good
The ink of this printer is fading out
So is my sight - I can't see clear and bright
Lights faded out at some point in my life
Thank goodness gadgets can restore my site
The fibers of this film keeps getting low
As years go by some strings break down and go
Some hairs must shed and skin less taught
And bones can break like ice cream cones
I spread my wings and strech my numbing brain
And let my nuerons quiz and smell the past
When dreams were innocently conceived to begin
And plans for life were undefidely puffed to start.
